Folds down from the head of the bed. It looks like a standard tall cabinet when closed and works best for rooms with high ceilings (at least 84–91 inches).
These use gas-filled cylinders for smooth, controlled motion. They generally require less effort to lift and lower and often come with longer warranties (sometimes 25 years or lifetime).
This is how far the bed extends into the room when fully open. Most queen beds need 80–90 inches of floor clearance.
