As the city mobilizes, Nina Antalk is assigned to lead the 9th Platoon in defending the northwest section. Layfon, aware of the monsters' true lethality from his past as a successor in Grendan, recognizes that Nina and her team are vastly outmatched. He urges her to evacuate, but Nina, driven by her rigid sense of duty and pride as a leader, refuses and questions why he is unwilling to fight alongside them.
