Research on online toxicity has primarily focused on its psychological and social impacts. Studies have shown that exposure to toxic behavior can lead to decreased motivation, enjoyment, and overall well-being among gamers (Kowalski et al., 2014; Hill & Wang, 2015). The ToxicModzz phenomenon serves as a reminder of the challenges facing online gaming communities. This study highlights the need for a multifaceted approach to addressing toxicity, which acknowledges the complex interplay of individual, social, and technological factors. By promoting positive social norms, implementing effective technological solutions, and providing individual support and education, we can work towards creating a safer, more enjoyable gaming environment for all players.
