Standard digital fonts (TrueType or OpenType) are "outline" fonts; they define the boundary of a letter but are hollow inside.

Use the Weld tool to combine overlapping script letters into a single continuous path, preventing the plotter from cutting into the middle of your word where letters connect. Inkscape: Use Path > Object to Path . 3. Handle Overlaps plotter
