Initially, it appears the three women discovered the man's deception and confronted him. They claim that when they arrived, he had already committed suicide. In an attempt to cover up the scandal, they staged the scene further.

Seeking a "release" from his emotional stress, Booth ends the episode by sleeping with Dr. Camille Saroyan , a decision they both immediately label a "huge mistake".

While the case unfolds, Booth deals with his own complicated history. After a brief romantic encounter with his ex-partner, (the mother of his son, Parker), he begins to re-evaluate their relationship.

By the end of the episode, Booth and Rebecca agree that while they are great parents, they are not meant to be a couple.

The investigation reveals that the victim, identified as Larry Turner (also known as Lawrence Seaver), was leading a double life. He had two completely separate families: Lila Turner, with whom he had a daughter. Wife #2: Gayle Seaver, with whom he had a son.
