With Angie away at a business convention in Las Vegas, George is left to manage the household alone. Fed up with his children's spoiled attitudes and constant fighting, he decides to send them to stay at his mother Benny’s house for the weekend. George hopes this "tough love" experiment will show them how good they truly have it compared to the "yellow tap water" and harsh conditions of his upbringing.
When Angie returns early and finds the kids gone, she initially berates George for making a major parenting decision without her. However, the plan seemingly works; the children return home so traumatized by Benny's house that they start behaving and even serve their parents dinner. The victory is short-lived, as the kids quickly begin adopting Benny's abrasive personality and habits.
