Serving — Sara (2002)
The film follows Joe Tyler (Matthew Perry), a down-on-his-luck process server tasked with delivering divorce papers to Sara Moore (Elizabeth Hurley), the British wife of a wealthy Texas cattle rancher (Bruce Campbell). Upon being served, Sara offers Joe a million-dollar counter-proposition: if he ignores the original service and serves her husband instead, she can file first and secure a much larger portion of the $20 million estate. The two embark on a cross-country chase while being pursued by Joe’s rival, Tony (Vincent Pastore), and a psychotic bodyguard.
Filming was famously halted for two months when Matthew Perry checked himself into rehabilitation for prescription painkiller addiction. Director Reginald Hudlin managed the delay by filming as many scenes as possible that did not require Perry's presence. Serving Sara (2002)
