Artist Jesse Hellman, his wife Astrid, and their daughter Zooey move into a farmhouse that was sold cheaply due to the previous owners' deaths.

Jesse begins hearing dark whispers that compel him to paint increasingly disturbing, satanic murals, often losing track of time and reality.

Ray Smilie, the mentally disturbed son of the former owners, returns to the house. Ray is a serial killer who believes he must sacrifice children—his "candy"—to appease the devil.
