A file with the extension is the first part of a "split archive" created by the 7-Zip utility . Because the original file was likely very large, it was broken into multiple smaller chunks (e.g., .001, .002, .003) for easier sharing or storage. How to Extract the File
: Ensure the filenames are identical except for the numbered extension (e.g., Part.7z.001 , Part.7z.002 ).
: If you only have the .001 file and cannot find others, the archive is incomplete and cannot be opened unless it was mistakenly labeled.
The software will automatically detect and join the other parts to recreate the original file. Troubleshooting
