The hills became prominent during the French occupation of Szczecin (1806–1813). In 1808 , French troops stationed in the area created an artificial mound, now known as Napoleon's Hill ( Wzgórze Napoleona ), to honor Emperor Napoleon I's 39th birthday.

Historically, this elevated terrain was strategically used for defensive purposes. Traces of bunkers and defensive structures from later periods (including World War II) are still present in the surrounding landscape. 2. Geographical Context

The "Crown Hills" area is situated on the border of the Pogodno and Zawadzkiego-Klonowica neighborhoods.
